Kylan joined the firm in 2026 after spending 10 years as a conservation officer for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Division of Enforcement. Kylan is an enrolled member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians. During his time as a conservation officer, Kylan became versed in natural resources and environmental issues, criminal procedure, and the intersections with Tribal jurisdiction. Kylan’s passion within Indian country includes off-reservation Treaty hunting, fishing, and gathering rights, in addition to promoting Tribal sovereignty as a whole. While in law school, Kylan worked as an extern for the Red Lake Nation’s Legal Department, researching matters related to Treaty rights within the jurisdictional boundaries of the 1863 Treaty of Old Crossing. Kylan graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and earned a Certificate in Native American Law and Sovereignty.
