Stephanie “Violet” Rush
Senior Attorney
Violet joined the firm as a senior attorney in 2026. She is a Cherokee Nation citizen (Old Settler) and Muscogee descendant (Coweta/Hotvlkvlke).
Violet advises tribal governments and tribally affiliated entities on matters involving sovereignty, governance, and complex jurisdictional issues affecting tribal authority. Her work focuses on helping tribes maximize and operationalize their sovereignty across a wide range of legal contexts, enabling tribal governments to execute long-term governance, regulatory, and economic development initiatives.
Violet also has significant litigation experience involving tribal sovereignty and jurisdiction in federal and state trial and appellate courts. Violet regularly works on legal issues related to the Supreme Court’s decision in McGirt v. Oklahoma, including analyzing jurisdictional disputes between tribal, state, and federal governments and advising institutions on the decision’s implications for tribal governance, regulatory authority, and enforcement.
