Scott Goode

Of Counsel

Scott joined the Firm as Of Counsel in 2024. He has practiced in Northeastern Oklahoma for 18 years. Scott advises the Firm’s clients in matters involving litigation, governance and tribal sovereignty, tribal criminal jurisdiction, and public safety infrastructure. He serves as General Counsel for his own Tribe, the Seneca-Cayuga Nation, and as the District Court Chief Judge for the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma and the Ottawa Tribe of Oklahoma. Scott is also the primary litigator and partner at the Military Law Group, PLLC, in Tulsa with a practice dedicated to representing active duty, retired, reservist, and disabled veterans of the US Armed Forces.

Scott was born in Northeastern Oklahoma and grew up on the Cherokee Reservation near the shores of the Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees. He has been an active member of the Seneca-Cayuga Nation in Oklahoma for his entire life. After graduating high school, Scott enlisted in the United States Navy and was stationed on the USS Enterprise as an Aviation Boatswains Mate and eventually did two tours in the Middle East, launching and recovering aircraft from the flight deck. Following his military service, he returned to Oklahoma and earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Northeastern State University, while working fulltime, and received his Juris Doctorate, with a certificate in Native American Law, in just two and a half years, from the University of Tulsa School of Law.
