Michael delivers prompt, practical, and sustainable legal solutions to his clients. Serving clients primarily in a general counsel capacity, Michael has substantial experience advising tribal governments, agencies, and enterprises on all facets of their operations. He has litigated cases in tribal, state, and federal courts, with outcomes that help shield tribal officials from civil liability and protect tribal property rights. Michael works with tribal leaders every day to advance the interests of tribes and their businesses.

Before joining the firm in 2014, Michael worked as a public defender with the Regional Native Public Defense Corporation, as a Fulbright Scholar in Law in Papua New Guinea, and as a consultant for the World Bank.
