Ms. Magnuson has extensive legal experience in both the public and private sector. She joined JLG as a shareholder in 1992 after leaving the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office where she was the managing attorney for the Gaming Division.

Throughout her career, Mary has specialized in gaming. She has substantial experience representing tribal governments, tribal regulatory authorities, commercial, tribal, and charitable gaming enterprises, and tribal business entities on wide range of matters, including governance, gaming compliance and enforcement, and litigation. Mary has negotiated tribal-state gaming compacts and amendments on behalf of tribes and states, has represented a number of business entities and trade associations involved in the development and operation of gaming activities throughout the United States and Canada, and has represented clients before state and federal legislative and gaming regulatory bodies. Mary is the author of several reports and articles on gaming issues in Minnesota. She has consistently been recognized by her peers as a top gaming and regulatory compliance attorney, earning recognition in Best Lawyers, Best Lawyers-Midwest, Minnesota Monthly-Top Lawyers, and she has a Martindale Hubbell AV-Preeminent rating.
